Segur De Calafell lies two kilometers north of Calafell town.
It is a coastline holiday resort, mostly second homes for the Barcelonians.
Calafell is in the province of Tarragona and has its own microclimate due to the surrounding mountains. The sea is rich in iodine and several spas were in existence during the Roman occupation.
Attractive palm lined promenade (Paseo Maratimo) with stylish lighting, stone walls, lawns and flowers, The catalonians delight in taking a stroll and frequenting the many bars and restaurants and gift shops, found in the narrow tiled lanes off the main walkway.
Large golden sandy beaches sporting clumps of tall palm trees, are clean, the sea water quality is very good, and there are sunbeds, shades and showers available.
Golf La Graiera is the closest of 6 courses in the Costa (within 10 mins drive) and will shortly be an 18 hole with many more facilities.
There is also a pitch and putt close by.
The original old town stands on a hill complete with its own castle.
At Sant Salvador (a few kilometers south) you will find the home of the cellist Pablo Cassals and a theatre dedicated to him.
