We are still exploring Caleta de Fuste (or Castillo as some folk still call it after the 17th C castle at the tip of the crescent beach). It is only a small town but they've expanded up the hill. We like the fact that you can pop down to do a bit of shopping or go for a meal in the evening and be in the town in minutes (either hire a car which is very reasonable - we've just paid £75 for the week or a taxi into town will only cost £2 each way) and enjoy a bit of 'bustle' (in a very small way) yet at Casa Felicidad it is very peaceful. Corralejo is the busiest place on the island but makes for an interesting day trip - especially if you want to pick up some bargains in the shops. Takes about an hour to drive there. We had a fabulous tropical lunch at the Waikiki restaurant right on the beach. Drinking the tropical crush of strawberries, oranges and mango was sublime whilst the white sand tickled my bare toes. |
